ProteinMD for Clinicians

Protein targets your patients can actually follow.

ProteinMD turns guideline-based targets for CKD, PKU and other conditions into daily food choices and gives you a dashboard to see how patients are doing between visits.

Provider dashboard

Between-visit visibility, without the busywork

Patient list

De-identified IDs, condition, target, last log, adherence and status. Filter by condition, adherence or alerts.

Individual trends

7-day protein vs. target, phosphorus/potassium (CKD) or phenylalanine (PKU), recent entries.

Smart alerts

Not logging for 7 days, consistently over target, high-phosphorus foods, surfaced automatically.

Report review

Patient-generated PDF/CSV reports ready for the visit, with provider notes.

Secure messaging

Adjust targets and send guidance to patients inside the app.

Role-based access

Nephrologist, metabolic dietitian, clinic admin and read-only roles with audit logs.

Interoperability

Built to fit your EHR workflow

ProteinMD is designed around HL7 FHIR R4 and SMART on FHIR, so clinicians can launch it from the EHR and patient summaries can flow back as structured observations.

  1. Launch: Clinician opens ProteinMD from the EHR via SMART on FHIR.
  2. Set target: Protein or Phe target is set for the patient.
  3. Track: Patient logs meals in the app.
  4. Return: Summaries post back to the chart as FHIR Observations.

Security & compliance

  • Architected for HIPAA: encryption in transit and at rest, BAAs with infrastructure providers
  • Role-based access control and audit logging
  • Clinical content sourced from authoritative guidelines (e.g. KDOQI 2020) and reviewed by an advisory board of RDs and MDs
  • Positioned as clinical decision support: clinicians set and approve targets

Compliance features are in development and will be verified before clinical launch.
